Does anyone know which banks will give a current account with a poor credit rating?

natwest do, but wouldnt bother they are rubbish, ive just got rid of them and opened one with the co-operative, they are very good and you even get a debit card with them, the account is called the %26#039;cashminder%26#039; account, its specially designed as a basic bank account for people with a poor credit rating, all you need to open it is a passport or driving license and a utility bill, hope this helps.

All the major Banks in the UK will allow you to open a very basic account without any credit checks but,it will only give you a cash card to withdraw what funds you have in the bank.

You can use the account to pay bills with direct debit but you will not be able to get loans etc as the account is very basic.

To set up the account just go into any branch with plenty of identification.

They will not carry out any credit checks until you have been with them for a while and want to open a normal account.
